Giorgio Armani Opens New Hotel in Dubai

Iconic designer Giorgio Armani has officially opened the doors to the Armani Hotel Dubai in the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

Armani’s first foray into the world of opulent living, the Armani Hotel Dubai occupies 10 levels of the vast 800-meter, 160-story tower. Each one of the 160 rooms is expertly ornamented with handmade Florentine leather and Japanese tatami is adorned on the floors and bathrooms – each with a highlight of illustrious, green Brazilian marble.

With a price tag at $2,500 per suite, guests will have the opportunity to buy confectionery at the Dolci chocolate and sweet store, exotic flowers at the Fiori florist, and a night of entertainment at the upmarket nightclub – Privé.

Inspired by the innovative spirit of the Italian couturier, Emaar stocked the Armani Hotel with a myriad of world cuisines – from Japanese and Indian, to Authentic Mediterranean. Armani and Emaar’s main culinary aspiration was to construct eight restaurants (Lounge, Peck, Mediterraneo, Ristorante, Lobby Bar, Amal, Hashi, Privé), which reflect the “nature of the city. In addition, guests are encouraged to “experience the splendor of the Armani lifestyle,” in any three of Hotel Armani’s event spaces.

Holding up to 450 individuals, the Armani Ballroom displays an aura of sophistication within the black marble, dramatic dark gray carpet, and backlit resin walls. Set amidst the lavish gardens of the Burj Khalifa, a panoramic view of the Dubai Fountain can be seen from the Armani Pavilion. Finally, the Al Majlis – a reflection of Arabian style meeting spaces – is mainly dedicated towards private events.

Although the hotel opening was delayed by a week due to the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull, Armani was able to arrive and announce, “I wanted something very important, something to be remembered – something not just for the present but beyond.”

Currently, Armani and Emaar are collaborating on the creation of another Armani hotel in Milan, Italy.
